Talitha Washington
Talitha Washington
Professor Washington earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Spelman College and an MS and PhD (2001) in from the University of Connecticut. She is the inaugural Director of the Atlanta University Center (AUC) Data Science Initiative, a Professor of Mathematics at Clark Atlanta University and an affiliate faculty at Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Spelman College.
Topics covered
Professor Washington’s training is in ordinary and partial differential equations which she applies to problems in biology and engineering. Recently, however, her efforts have been to facilitate data science at the Atlanta University Center, a consortium consisting of Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Spelman College. They organize workshops, summer programs, learning communities, data challenges, and funding opportunities.
