Rafael Irizarry
Dr. Irizarry earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras and his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in Statistics. He is now Professor of Biostatistics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Professor of Biostatistics and Computational Biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Irizarry has been given many incredibly prestigious awards including the Presidents’ Award given by the Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies.

Dr. Irizarry’s work is focused primarily on genomics and computational biology. He is one of the founders of Bioconductor which is a suite of R packages designed for the analysis of genomic data.
